So like yourself… I stumbled onto Crystal healing while on my pursuit for self-healing… It was all by accident. I remember going for a seminar back in the day. It was more like an expo where these Crystal healers exchange knowledge… So the purpose of this blog is really for me to pen my thoughts down and share with you what I have learnt and what my experiences are…
Personally… I don’t think have any anxiety issues… But I know what they say… “Those who have anxiety issues don’t usually admit that they have this issue…” The truth is… I don’t have many friends and that I am afraid of big crowds.. Which most “experts” consider this condition to be a form of Social Anxiety…
I now wear an Aventurine Crystal and carry it with me especially when I have to speak to my colleagues under me… As in, I have a team of technicians under me… So speaking and briefing them on certain issues is kinda like a requirement for my job. Personally… I felt the increased in confidence and courage to communicate and speak up… I’ll go more into the details of the healing energy of the Crystal later…
But first…. lets find out why anxiety issues are on the rise. We’ll need to know and acknowledge our fears before we can heal our condition…
Why is Anxiety Issue Becoming More Prevalent and Common?
Anxiety is the most common of all mental illness and in the U.S. alone, up to 40 million adults are affected by it. Yet… only 36.9% are receiving adequate treatment. We use the word ‘Anxiety’ in conversations to replace words such as ‘Stress’, or ‘Anxious’. However… Anxiety is a much more serious issue that can overshadow an individual’s life.
We Set Goals That Are Too Unrealistic
In our modern world, we are more and more exposed to the unrealistic goals set by celebrities and the society. When we are told that we cannot achieve certain beliefs or values, we either abandon the thought of trying to do what others perceive as ‘right’ or we see ourselves as incapable of achieving it. This can often lead to anxiety issues….
Feeling unloved and undeserving of love is an effect that anxiety can bring…. When we do not feel that we have met the standards of what is to be expected, we blame ourselves for it…. We feel rejected by others and therefore start rejecting ourselves.
We Are Not Living Up To Our Own Expectations
Even if we do not realize it, expectations are all around us. You feel obligated to have a stable job and be financially stable, as everyone else seems perfectly fine. You feel the need and hurry to get married and to have kids after a certain age…. Which is usually the result of your family pressuring you. Or it could be a society and cultural norm from where you are from…
You feel that you need a make time for the gym, have enough sleep, have a social life and work as hard as you possibly can or you would be wasting time in your life…All these expectations that we have for ourselves arises from what we think society wants us to do. When we realize that we can’t accomplish these, we will have a lack of empathy for ourselves, increasing the rate anxiety issues among us.
The Lack Of Knowledge On The Symptoms Of Anxiety
Another reason that anxiety is becoming more and more common is due to the lack of treatment and misdiagnosis… Anxiety has similar symptoms compared to depression so those misdiagnosed won’t be on treatment that is useful for them.
Although most of the time, depression and anxiety can come together, there are times where people just suffer from anxiety alone and taking anti-depressants won’t help in their conditions…
Many people suffering from anxiety also do not seek treatment as they have a lack of knowledge of the symptoms.When they experience mild anxieties, they simply convince themselves that it is due to them worrying too much and that it will be just fine…
And thinking back… I guess that was how my social anxiety started building up…
Symptoms of Anxiety
There are many different types of Anxieties, including panic disorders, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and specific phobias…. Panic disorders strikes at any moment, you can feel shortness of breath, chest pain and strong irregular heartbeats.
Social Anxiety Disorder
Yup… this is something that I can really relate to… For social anxiety disorder, you would feel self-conscious around others and frequently wonder if they are talking about you… You will be scared of what to do and say to others, as you fear talking about the wrong things at the wrong time…and sometimes… you just feel that you have problems communicating your idea or thoughts. This exceeds the typical shy person….
People who suffer from social anxiety disorder can spend up to weeks leading up to an event, worrying. They can feel sad and nervous during, before and even after the event.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
For generalized anxiety disorder, you often worry and feel excessive as you feel that every little thing could lead to a huge disaster. I classify these people as those who really worry too much!
The worrying done by people who suffer from generalized anxiety disorder is often unnecessary and blown out of proportion. The worrying can ultimately lead to their everyday lives being impaired and they are unable to work, deal with relationships or even day-to-day social lives….
The last type of anxieties are known as the specific phobias; this is when you fear certain things or situations even by thought of it… Do you know someone who is afraid of Spiders…? Or someone who is just too afraid to take the stairs..? Yup.. that’s specific phobias.
These fears are often lasting and not harmful. Being exposed to the object or situation can bring out an instant reaction and those who suffer from this would go out of their ways to just avoid a situation or object.
The most common phobia is animal phobia. People are afraid of dogs, snakes, mice, etc. There are also situational phobias where one is scared of situations such as driving, riding the elevator, or being in close tight spaces.
Natural environment phobia is when one is afraid of a storm or water and there are blood injection injury phobias where they have a fear of being injured or seeing blood. All of these phobias have similar physical and psychological symptoms. Some physical symptoms include, stomach upsets, trembling, heart palpitations, dizziness, chest pains, and shortness of breath…
And some psychological symptoms includes panic attacks, problems with concentrating, worrying, sleep disturbances, insomnia and critical self-talk.
What Crystals Are Good For Anxiety?
Crystals have been used for a long time for it’s healing properties as they are able to bring calm and relaxation into your lives. It can bring you a sense of balance into your hectic life and it is also a natural healing therapy… That is what I use and what I recommend…
Crystals, unlike other medicine doesn’t have any potential harmful side effects and they are also mild enough to treat the young and the elderly. There have been records of Crystals being used in ancient times; for example, the Ancient Egyptians used stones such as Lapis Lazuli and turquoise as jewelry designed for protection and health…
Whereas the Greeks used to wear an amethyst amulet to prevent drunkenness and they would rub it over a soldier’s body using hematite before battle as they believed that could make a solider invulnerable…
In religions such as the Buddhist and Hindu, they use crystals for meditation and mental well being, in relations to the Seven Chakras. Different Crystals have their own individual properties; we have to choose the appropriate one that is suitable for our situation…
Trying out different types of Crystals is one way to find out which one is best for you.
One other important thing to remember is that we should cleanse our Crystals regularly to avoid and negative energy to be stored there, which would then cause the crystals to not work as well as it could.
Proper Crystal Pairing
Bringing the Crystal around is easy, they are small and light which can be made into a necklace to be worn or just be carried in a pocket. The reason why I don’t wear a lot of Crystal bracelets or jewelry is because I feel that Crystals need proper pairing… What do I even mean right…?
Okay think of it this way… If you place Crystals which are conflicting in energies together, you might upset the overall energy giving you a negative effect… That is the reason why I like carrying a whole palm size Crystal with me… It makes more sense and is… much safer!

The Aventurine Crystal is know to attract love and friendship, two very important things in our lives that can allows us to feel appreciated.
Anxiety wise… this Crystal helps you to increase your confidence, for you to believe in yourself and increase your self-esteem. The Aventurine Crystal also help with sleep disorders that is caused by anxiety… Personally, I carry the Aventurine Crystal with me when I am at work because it increases my confidence level and restore my courage whenever I need to speak up.
It’s reassuring energy gives me the confidence to do the things that I am afraid of… specifically public speaking and pressing on in face with uncertainty.
The Aventurine Crystal can also be used for heart related problems as it represents the color of the Heart Chakra. Since this Crystal comes in different colors, you are able to choose the best one that works for you… One tip to pick a Crystal is always to go with your heart… you are the only one who has the answers to your questions…

The next Crystal that I recommend is the Black Tourmaline! This is one of the most protective Crystal and it help us create a shield against harm. It is also able to shield us from harmful electromagnetic waves so placing these stones near electronic devices or televisions would make it effective…
I think more importantly… what the the Black Tourmaline can do… is also to protect us against the specific phobias we have, it can help us convert the negative energy we have towards these phobias to positive energy, and ultimately helping us to face and overcome our fears… The energy from the Black Tourmaline is also grounding and it gives us a stable footing when faced with our fears.
If you are intending to get a Black Tourmaline Crystal and carry it around with you… I suggest getting one that has rounded edges and not the rough-cut type. The rough-cut type tends to be a little more brittle and can break when you leave it in your pocket or bag.

The Blue Calcite is known for being able to purify negative energy and help us in communication and certain social events. This Crystal would work best for those who have social anxiety disorder as they can help to clam nerves and lessen the worry.
Personally… I don’t use this Crystal because it’s energy is a little too soft for me… I feel too relaxed when I use this Crystal. It might be a Crystal that I will use for social events… maybe when I am out with friends to socialize… yeah.. this might work. But if its for work, this Crystal isn’t the right one for me… Why so..?
You see.. the energy from the Crystal is too light and it keeps me too relaxed. Based on the current nature of my job, my job requires me to think on my feet when situation arises… hence, using this Crystal wouldn’t be idea as it makes me sleep! Haha. But of course, you should give it a try and feel it for yourself… I always believe different people have different experiences for each and every Crystal…
The Blue Calcite also encourages sleep and a good night rest… It also helps people who has insomnia issues due to their anxiety problems.You see.. when you have anxiety issues… you may be asleep.. but your mind is still active. Ever experience this before? Well…I have.. when I am really stressed at work.
So this Crystal is really a calming and soothing Crystal, it’s “light and soft” energy will help you to get adequate rest in face of problems…

This is a must have Crystal for everyone who is interested in Crystal Healing… Very often, we get too caught up with our own thoughts and opinion. Sometimes… this can blind us from the ability to make the right and informed decision.
This Crystal has a powerful resonance with the Crown and Third Eye Chakra. Both of these Chakras help us in connecting with our spirituality. Especially since it can connect us to our higher consciousness, it can help those with anxiety issues by helping us to meditate and relax instead of being anxious all the time.
Personally, I have a large Clear Crystal Quartz which I use for meditation purposes too. I am a firm believer of meditation and the health benefits they bring along. So if you’re someone like me… trust me… getting a Clear Crystal Quartz for meditation will take your meditation to another level.
